Sharing the same trailhead as the Upper Dungeness trails, Royal Basin is in Olympic National Park and requires an overnight permit from a ranger station. Like all Olympic Rock, its chossiness is part of its appeal.

Getting There Suggest change

The trailhead is about an hour drive from Sequim, WA. Royal Basin being about an 6.5 mile hike up a river valley.
