Description Suggest change

Scattered boulders and short walls between the Eastern Rampart and the Quarry. A number of boulders are hidden in the areas around Bird Foot Buttress and surrounding crags.

Other boulders are at a crag called "West Post" in the Swartling guidebook.

And a few are at the base of the slope, east of the CCC trail and near the group camp.

Getting There Suggest change

You can follow the directions in the Knower guidebook for Bird Foot Buttress and go from there. There are 2 other options. One is go up the CCC trail to the top and instead of heading back left to the top of the climbs go east (right) into the woods on a small social trail that eventually heads back downhill (south). The rocks will be off to your left.

Alternately, park at the CCC trail and walk 100-200 yards back east on the road until you come to a culvert going under the road with a sign on either side of the road. Head left up the drainage and you will come to this area and the boulders. This is the quickest way but best in the spring and fall when the leaves are down so you can see where you are going.
