Description
Up-and-coming crag in the Jackson area developed originally by Johnny Tozzi and Mark Daverine between 2004 and 2006. Its mostly sharp limestone sport climbing and provides unbelievable views of the valley.
Routes exist from 5.8 to 5.12.
Getting There
From Jackson, drive up Teton Pass until the pullout for Phillips Pass/Ski Lake trails. On the North side of the road head up a dirt road and 100 meters past the Forest Service sign pull off the trail to the left and gain a ridge. Follow this ridge for 45 minutes and then descend down a steep bank left to the base of the feature. The climbers trail is almost non-existent.
[Hide Photo] First look hiking in, bigger than it looks. Topo overlay is where Grey Whale is. Access via hiking up ridge near cliff top there is a smaller crag up there with good quality limited quantity stone!
[Hide Photo] 5.12, and 2 5.11s left of this. This is right above a sm cave and steep section so bring the stick clip! Just left of the proj corner
[Hide Photo] 5.11 something that climbs up between the two 5.10s posted
[Hide Comment] Will go sus this area out this summer a bit more the mosquitos have been sabotaging me up there. The rock is not bad, and there is somewhat of an approach trail in and out on the ridge line down directly east of the crag. Best bet is to hike on the Phillips Canyon trail (east) and bust left off it when it mellows out to gain that ridge which a straight shot to the cliff band. (west) Once on the ridge the trail becomes more evident, I chopped some dead trees etc out to help.
