Description
Overall faces WSW.
Name: Chris Sharma is most famous for having taken sport-climbing difficulty to whole new levels. Early promoter of a new kind of climbing: deep water soloing (DWS). Grew up and started climbing indoors and outdoors around Santa Cruz. Created the hardest single-pitch route in California (and North America?) on the (non-Yosemite) Clark Mt. Earlier opened one of the most famous boulder problems in the world-famous Buttermilks by Bishop.
. . previous name "Lachenal" was for Pointes Lachenal (named after climber Louis Lachenal), SSE from the Aiguille du Midi and Refuge des Cosmiques overlooking the upper part of the giant Mer de Glace glacier. With several great fun multi-pitch granite routes.
warning: The rock in this sector has not been climbed much yet, and much of the rock is still breakable and loose -- so the belayer and other people should stand far away from underneath the climber.
