Description
The Gethnaa area is a short granite crag with over a dozen routes, most of which are concentrated in a tight band about a hundred feet across. The crag stays in the shade all day long, except perhaps for an hour or two at mid-day. Most routes are short and about half of them are sport bolted while the rest are provided with top-rope anchors which can be reached by traversing from neighboring anchors. There is one mixed route that is well protected by cams.
Getting There
See map for exact location. On the Mysore highway, past the town of Bidadi, you will see, in order: Rasta Cafe, HP Petrol Station and Hyundai dealership, all on the right. Park on the left (south side) just before the Hyundai dealership (note: its location on Google maps is wrong). Walk past the small farming settlement with 2 or 3 houses and head back through the fields, to the crag. If you come up to a water tank, you've gone about 200 feet too far right.
