Description
This is the best wall in the Kausey area in my opinion. It is a beautiful streaked limestone wall that sits high on the side of the hill. The left side of the wall is severely overhung offering very hard routes, the middle to right side of the wall are slightly overhanging and offer more routes in the 5.12 range, and the far right side of the wall has a couple of easy 5.9's. The wall faces mostly south, but slightly east, so it is sun all day long but goes into the shade in the late afternoon and evening. This is probably the busiest wall at Kausey, but sharing the wall with anyone else is still a low probability occurrence.
Getting There
Park just outside the gate for camp Kiesel, cross the bridge to the south side of the reservoir, and follow the trail east into Wheat Grass Canyon. Once you reach the fork in the canyon (after about 20-25 minutes) take the left fork (staying in Wheat Grass Canyon) and follow the trail for another 20 minutes. You will see this beautiful wall about 300 yards up the hill side on your left. Look for the cairn marking the cutoff trail and ascend the steep trail to the base of the wall where there is a nice flat staging area.
