Peregrine Closures

Description
A South-Southwest aspect means typically sunny for much of the day. Some of the lower lying or shorter cliff bands are shaded by trees.
Prospect Rock shines as a learning destination with a large assortment of moderate routes that area top-accessible. An easy walk down from the main overlook off The Long Trail leads to cliff edge top-rope anchors for many of the climbs.

Getting There
Take VT-15 till about a 1.5 miles west of Johnson. Turn on to Hog Back Rd before/after the bridge depending on which way you are coming. If early season, continue on Hog Back Rd approximately a mile and park on shoulder. Hike North on The Long Trail after an initial gain and a flat section a second elevation gain is encountered. A couple hundred meters up this look for an obvious herd path right that takes you to Taboo Crack or continue uphill to Pick, Axe'r Shovel.
If not mud season, after turning on to Hog Back Rd. take the first right on Prospect Rock Rd. Follow this as it switches from pavement to dirt, then narrows down to single lane. Follow for several miles until an obvious pullout on both sides of the road. Start hiking to the S on The Long Trail from the parking area. After a hundred or so meters a herd path to the right hikes a contour SW until it rejoins The Long Trail right above a steep descent. The first small cliff band on the left is the Pick, Axe'r Shovel area. Continue shortly and the herd path on the left will take you to the Taboo Crack area.
