Mt. Washington

Washington > Olympics & Paci… > Olympic National Forest

Description

Climbed from all sides, in all seasons, Mt. Washington is a steep, worthy objective in the SE Olympics. With 2,615' of prominence and very good access, Mt. Washington is worth a trip or many.

Getting There

For Route 1, 2, 3 (SE Ridge):

Follow 101 to the town of Hoodsport, WA. Turn onto Lake Cushman Rd. and follow until a T intersection at Big Creek campground. Make a right and continue until the first left and signs for Mt. Ellinor. Take this and wind your way up the mountain, passing the lower Ellinor trail head and turnoff for the upper Elinor trail head, soon arriving at a small parking area before a washout.

[Hide Comment] there's several possible routes on the shield wall including the left arete, central dihedral, and between those two. left arete has beta in olympics climbing guidebook. I've done the other two and have some info, I'll post more if there is interest. May 16, 2019
