Description

Big boulder that is sloping down on the South side. There's Greg Parker's Dynamometer on the west face, originally graded V9/V10, but holds have broken. I have now heard anywhere from V10-V12 for a grade. Luke Kretschmar and Heath Lillie have a short party trick on the short overhang on the Southeast face. Recently added was a traverse by Mike Madsen and John Anderson to called The Masochist, V6, to the right of Dynamometer.

Getting There

Photo was taken Nov 9 of 2021, just wanted to share that there is a fallen tree on the boulder. Not sure when it fell but does look sturdy for now, may or may not interfere with some of the routes on this boulder.

[Hide Comment] Hey Greg, are they sure holds have broken off Dynamometer? Did you write that? (You would definitely know since you remember every hold on every climb you've ever done, very nearly!) I was just there two days ago and it looked just like I remember it. All the upper "holds" (above the sit start) are unbreakable anyway, since they're just big flat open-handed presses. I checked the bottom and I saw the two starting holds just as I remember them. But I could be wrong. I think the grade, if it's the same as it was when we sent it, is likely V10. Thoughts? [Hide Comment] Hey Dave. You are correct. The holds are the same. If you remember, we were attempting to start matched on the low right hold in the beginning, but that hold blasted off of there. I think that's where the broken hold idea came from. Now the starting right hand is a pitiful little 2-finger crimp with a thumb catch. I did manage the FA after the breakage and called it V9/10. Who knows how hard this thing is. I just found some old slides and added the problem to the site! Someone go repeat it!! Mar 8, 2020
