Blowhard Bush is a Forest & Bird reserve. The basic philosophy here is "leave only footprints". Forest & Bird is happy to have climbers at Blowhard Bush, but they ask that climbers stick to existing trails, scrub tick marks, keep trails clear of equipment, and generally continue to be polite, friendly stewards of the reserve. Camping is not permitted, even in vehicles. There is DoC acamping by the river further west down Taihape Road.
Description
Free standing boulders, from short to high ball. The majority of the moderates at Blowhard Bush are found here.
Getting There
Park on the side of Taihape Rd. just a few meters west of the turn off for Lawrence Rd. Cross fence at stile and search for track leading to prominent boulders.
