HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).
Description
Sometimes listed as two separate crags, this is really just one wall that slopes up the hillside. The 5.12s at the top of the corridor, as well as the right side of the lower part of the wall are generally quite sunny from late morning on and exposed to some wind, though a bit less than the nearby The Trophy Wall. The few routes on the lower left side stay pretty shady until later in the afternoon.
Most of the routes are very seldom climbed and have soft rock, and as a result, they still need to clean up quite a bit. The exception is Supernova, which has remained popular and is relatively clean and enjoyable. There are currently eleven routes from 11- to 12+.
Getting There
Approach as for The Twinkie. Just after passing the buttress that forms that crag, and before heading into the gully that contains The Trophy Wall, head right into a gully with an obvious section of attractive brown/orange rock. Walk right up a long ramp to the base of the crag.
