Description
It is worth visiting this little crag across the river from Castle Rock. Combined with the Speckled Spot, a steep hike above Dental Dome makes a full day. There are a couple of climbs on a lower tier near the main trail, the main Dental dome is above these.
Getting There
A flat trail (old road) starts out at the beach parking lot with the concrete toilet and pedestrian bridge. Go north (right) after bridge for about 1/2 mile. It helps to pick out the dome when at Castle Rock to get your bearings. It is downriver a few hundred yards and about 150' above the river. The left side is slabby and the right side has a chimney and blocky overhanging roofs. It is kind of hard to find where you turn off the main trail on the river. You will be passing burned out hillside and it is the first good sized cliff you pass with a little climbers trail going up the hillside on the left side of the crag
