Description
This is a larger collection of boulders that encompass a vast range of size and quality. You'll get everything from fun and tall to steep and uber hard. Rock quality is on the coarse side, but nothing close to west woods.
This is still a relatively new area with major first ascent potential, so bring a wire brush.
During most of the year climbing involves a 1.5-2 mile hike in along a forest road, however, the DEEP does open the gate for periods(hunting season?) allowing people to park within 5 minutes of the boulders. Update: There is a new public access path over Yale property (private) that gets you to the boulders in 10 or 15 minutes. Park in the massive pullout on Upper Four Mile River Road (marked on the map) and walk down the blue and white trail. There is massive (literally) FA potential. Definitely one of those places that if cleaned and climbed this could be a potentially large area on scale with other areas like Bradley, only 100% legal and on public land. Bring a brush and a rope because the boulders are big.
