Description Suggest change

On the back of the Carneddau, this imposing amphitheatre hosts some of the biggest and baddest winter routes in Wales. With a longer walk-in than most other venues (about 90 minutes!) and longer routes (up to about 10 pitches), it has a very "Scottish" feel.

The routes here are predominantly mixed, in the truest sense of the word. Expect water ice, bare rock chimneys and frozen turf, all within a single pitch. A fairly large and varied rack, including warthogs (if you can get hold of them) is advisable

Getting There Suggest change

Park in Bethesda, somewhere on the side of the road (be considerate to residents) and follow a good footpath up into the cwm. The cliff is unmissable. Approaches to individual climbs are quite indistinct, so take whatever route looks easiest/safest
