The Egg Boulder

Massachusetts > N Shore > Cape Ann > Monoliths > Monoliths Bouldering

Description

This is a huge, house-sized block hidden at the bottom of the east side of the hill of Little Agassiz. It is currently under-utilized but is ready to be worked. There are a handful of fun problems on this block, none really all that hard but some that certainly take a little bit bravery if bouldered. There are TR anchors on the highest point with a rope to either climb up or off. I will assume the anchors were placed to protect from a high fall onto a bad landing.

I can't say this block is a destination in and of it self like the little agassiz area up the hill, but certainly might become part of a fun circuit if the several other blocks that still lay hidden got some work.

Getting There

If you are standing at the summit of Little Agassiz area, walk straight off the back hill following past the 5.9 finger crack. Head down the hill and trend right. It should be easier to find after the leaves drop.... This block is MASSIVE.
