Erto is a limestone sport climbing destination, located just above the infamous Vajont Dam, near the towns of Longarone and Erto. The crag is situated at 800m, is south-facing, and has over 100 well-protected routes ranging in difficulty from 3a-8c+ (5.2-5.14). There's something for everyone here.

Getting There Suggest change

Erto is situated less than an hour from both Venice and Cortina d'Ampezzo. From either place, drive to Longarone and follow the signs to Erto. Cross the Piave river and begin your ascent up to the top of Vajont Dam. Be mindful of your speed here, as there are numerous speed cameras. Near the top of the dam, the road becomes one-way, controlled by a 7-minute traffic light. Soon after emerging from the tunnels, park in one of the many parking lots near the base of the cliff. Enjoy the 15-60 second approach!
