La Catedral

International > S America > Chile > 12. Araucanía (… > Pucón > Cerduo

Description

This is the most developed wall in the area and offers the highest concentration of routes. There are also some large flat rocks at the base of the wall that serve as great spots to sit and eat lunch.

Getting There

From the "parking lot" at the end of the road follow a trail to your right into the trees until you come to some large, blocky boulders. From here follow a faint trail through the boulders until you see the bolted face of the wall. Approach should only take a few minutes and is very straightforward.

Central section of the east face. The really cool 5.12 seam is visible cutting left to right across the wall going almost to the white streak.

This is the wall furthest left as you walk along the crag. It faces south and is at the south end. It has 6 routes in it. Those on the far left are covers in grime. The second from the right route is called N-winner and is about 5.9ish.

[Hide Comment] Sorry for some of the butt shot photos. We came to this crag to climb on an off day that we were not paddling and it was a bit confusing so we just got on any route that looked clean and hoped for the best. I added a lot of beta photos for the next visitors so they have a better idea (if they want to look at them) what the general route grade is. There are some super good routes here if you have some smearing skills and strong fingers. Dec 2, 2022
