5. Kite Boulders

Wisconsin > Baraboo Range > Devil's Lake > Devil's Lake Bo… > E Bluff > E Bluff North > 6. Monolith Ridge

Description

Another nice collection of boulders just off the trail. This area holds a couple of mini talus fields, a cool bluff line and some freestanding boulders in the woods.

Getting There

Keep walking past Monolith Ridge for a few hundred feet, passing another little ridge. Just before you start walking up a final set of stairs turn right into a flat opening and you're there. There is more bluff line on the left, open talus to the right and boulders and another open boulder field just down hill.

APPROACH BETA: After passing Venus Rising/Bark Biter continue along the east bluff trail for another 50 yards up and back down a small rise. When you reach the next saddle, head into the woods. A small talus and ridge line will be down and around to your right. "On the DL" and "Alexandria" are the first boulders you come across.

Is this "Lost in the Wood"? It's at the top of the talus, along the ridgeline, on the left side (if you're looking down over the talus, toward the lake).<br>
If it's not I'll add it to the area.
