Description
Adrpach - Adrspach Unique city of rocks with over than 6000 climbs, where every third tower would be dominant elsewhere. Splitter cracks, Chimneys and friction slabs are most common here. Sometimes hand or knee jam can be a ticket to great face climbing.
This place has reputation of run-out and sandbagged crack climbing but the most popular routes are generally safe. (slings, knots and few rings)
By train: Prague has a major international airport, and from there rail connections take you to any part of the country in under three hours. There is railway station just under the Adrspach rocks. By car: It is 3 to 4 hours from Prague or Vienna
[Hide Comment] Some helpful info.. Pubs to find climbing partners: Kalirna, Hostinec u tos The facebook group "Lezení - kdy a kde?" is super helpful for finding partners I stayed in a small hut with two bunk beds behind a hotel for 250 krona/night. Much cheaper than renting a proper hotel room. The entire town can be booked out in peak season on the weekends. If you brought camping gear there's a few campgrounds that have will likely have space for you. 80m ropes are common Redpoint Climbing is the local climbing shop and is a short train ride/couple mile walk in teplice. Retail prices are bit lower than they are in the US, especially for czech made gear (tension ropes) Most locals actually do use chalk... though they don't coat their hand with it like most americans do, just a touch on the finger tips You'll stand out if you use tape gloves The rock is soft sandstone so no climbing after a rain Modern glue ins are becoming more prevalent, tho ring bolts are still the most common I didn't see anything easier than mid 5.10, most the climbing is fairly serious so be solid at the grade. However, I didn't think the ratings were that sandbagged, but most routes are runout. The face climbing is super pumpy!
