Three Gray Faces

Texas > Paradise on the Brazos

Description

From the guidebook:
(10 routes & variations from 5.9 to 5.12, 5 boulder problems from V0- to V0+ / primarily South facing)

Located below the main parking area, immediately left (downstream when facing the river) of the BBQ grill, are a series of Three Gray Faces, each one demarcated by an arete, and flanked by white, flaky, overhanging rock. Don't let the adjectives "white and flaky" dissuade you from missing out... these corners, aretes, and hangs combine for some good, and challenging climbing. Not to mention some of the longest routes at POB.

Seasonal water levels: Expect seasonal water levels to fluctuate. It's typically a non-factor , but due to the overhanging nature of some routes, sometimes that pesky water is just close enough so as to complicate lowering off, not to mention any dropped gear receives a "burial at sea." However, rarely will total access be impacted.
