Description
A rugged and prominent mountain littered with rocks. Most of the rock is boulder sized, but larger formations exist; however, the largest rocks appear to be towards the top of the mountain.
The mountain itself is mostly west facing for this part of the mountain, but individual boulders and larger rocks face alternate directions. Winter months can reach freezing temperatures, and summertime is typically unbearably hot for climbing, at least during the afternoon hours, with shade being scarce except from the rock itself.
Getting There
If coming from the north or south via I-215 exit onto Hwy 74 East and drive for about 3.5 miles, making a right turn onto Briggs Road just past Heritage High School.
Drive Briggs Road for 0.5 miles and make a left turn onto McLaughlin Road for 0.25 miles, then make a right turn onto Emperor Road and park along the curb wherever convenient.
Another option is to take McCall Blvd. from the 215 and head east for about 2.5 miles until it ends at Briggs Rd., and then turn left to head north. Continue on Briggs Rd. for about 1.2 miles, and turn right onto Meadow Oaks St., which ends at Emperor Rd.
