The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that: 1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor. 2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.
This interesting boulder sits up on the ridge above and behind The Cirque of the Climbables. It's a major landmark on the approach to The Underground. The view is awesome! "Voodoo Chile (V5**), "Left V Nothing" (V0+**), "Right V Nothing" (V0+**), "Kentucky Fried Christ" (V2 R***), "Unnamed Traverse" (V1) and "Electric Church" (V3 R**) live here.
Getting There
From Queen Mountain parking lot, follow the old road to it's end at the base of the mountain. Here two cairns mark the trail along the base, through The Wastelands and up hill to The Crique of the Climbables. Continue past The Cirque to a plateau. Head left (west) here on a trail marked with carins for about 300 yards to this boulder.
