Description Suggest change

This the signature mountain for the Lugano area. It has an elevation of 912m or 2992ft. Weather on the mountain can be spectacular year round. During the winter it does get snow, but the almost tropical climate of southern Ticino(late spring to early fall) mean that winter days here also get quite warm. There are hiking trails, bike trails, a via ferrata, and a finiculare that you can take to the summit.

Getting There Suggest change

The approach from Lugano is best from the Lugano-Paradiso train/bus stop. From there, a short walk up hill to via Guidino will bring you to the trail head for both the hiking trail and via ferrata. The trail is marked by the classic Swiss red-white-red blaze.

An alternate way to reach the top is by the funiculare at the base of the mountain.
