Description Suggest change

High on a hillside above the town of Running Springs is this sixty foot high, west-facing formation with a nice selection of routes on clean, compact granite offering year-round climbing provided snow levels aren't too high.

A westerly aspect means this area can get really hot making it ideal for summer mornings or spring and fall afternoons. Watch out for rattlesnakes in the area as they're commonly seen when it's warm.

Several other small formations and some bouldering are also found in the immediate vicinity.

Getting There Suggest change

Midway between the town of Running Springs and Keller Peak Road make a turn onto Running Springs School Road and follow it for 0.8 miles to a trailhead on the left with a "San Bernardino Mountains Land Trust - Coyote Rock" sign.

Park and follow the old road for 10-15 minutes to the base of the rock.
