Description

Snowbird Slab is one of the best crags in Hatcher Pass for moderate high-quality routes. Great for a full day or even just an evening. This is the most well equipped crag in Hatcher Pass with 35 routes. There are two 4 pitch routes, and several other very accessible and safe multi-pitch lines. An excellent place to spend the day! All hardware on the wall has been replaced with stainless steel bolts and anchor materials. Easy clip-and-lowers exist on several routes and all lines have rings for easy lowering or rappel.

Some of the best lines on the wall are Power Podium, Social Drop, Thin as Ice, Night Patrol, and Rainbow Coalition.

Getting There

Park at the Reed Lakes Trailhead on Archangel Road, and follow it roughly two miles past a broken-down cabin and across Reed Creek. The trail heads up the steep side of this wall, so follow the switchbacks until you're above the level of the base, where you'll find a well-traveled trail heading straight to the wall. Routes along the right end of this wall may not have as easy access at the base as the first section of rock.
