Description
This is the closest sport climbing area to Osaka. It's rather small and gets quite crowded on the weekends, especially when the weather is nice. It's located on the site of a former rock quarry, so holes drilled for dynamite make up some of the holds. Rock is solid. Tend to be shorter face climbs.
Getting There
You can get there by car, though as I never did this, I couldn't describe it. By train, you take the JR line to Dojo (道場) station (if taking the Hankyu line, you have to change to JR at Takarazuka). Upon exiting the station, you'll walk to the right out the station up a small street past the only convenience store and follow that about a hundred meters, turning right again at the police station along another street just after a few buildings fronting a few small rice paddies. Follow that road across the JR train tracks, then up a winding hill (you can see signs for a golf course). There is a small dirt parking lot (fits two, maybe three cars) on the right. That's the trailhead and a few minutes walk will get you to the crag. Eboshi will be on your left, and a few minutes more up and toward your right will take you to Komagata.
