Description
Some of the best bouldering in the Telluride area and surely one of the best climbing settings in Colorado. A number of high quality boulders scattered in an alpine valley surrounded by towering walls and numerous waterfalls. The season runs from about mid May through late October. A great summer spot that is best in the late afternoon/evening. A mixture of sandstone conglomerate and volanic ash/tuff. Steep jug hauls, slopey aretes, thin face climbs and so much more. Finish the day by watching the sun set over Telluride.
Complete information for this area can be found in the brand new guidebook 'Telluride Bouldering' by Christian Prellwitz. This book can be purchased at Jagged Edge and Between The Covers in Telluride and at stores throughout Colorado or by emailing TellurideBouldering@gmail.com.
Getting There
Take Colorado Ave. east out of Telluride for 1.5 miles to where the pavement ends. Follow the dirt road beyond the Pandora Mill for another quarter of a mile or so, past the obvious first boulder (just off the road), parking on the left side of the road at the top of the first switchback. Make sure your car is as far off the road as possible. If the parking is full, park at the lower lot just before the switchbacks begin.
