Description Suggest change

This area is not in Sequoia National Park, it is down near the town of Three Rivers, at Slickrock Recreation Area, BLM land. A decent spot for Central Valley locals or if passing through on a sunny winter day. Not really a destination spot though, imo.

Slick boulders that are covered by the lake in the late spring and summer seasons. A good spot to get some fall and winter climbing in when the park is covered in snow, the weather in the mountains is crap, or when lake levels are down.

Getting There Suggest change

Driving on highway 198 eastbound past the town of Lemon Cove & around Lake Kaweah (and just before the town of Three Rivers), is the turnout (left) for Slickrock Recreation Area (BLM).

There are two parking lots, one near highway 198 (Corridor, Ray’s, Arete) and one down near the river in the lake bed (Lower Bottoms). BLM recently started charging for parking at the self-pay station.
