Description
The middle of the three formations which make up Saddle Rocks, Pommel has a small number of routes on it's north and south sides and sees a fraction of the traffic that (a) Saddle Rocks - Skirt does.
On the north side is Wanna Bong (5.9) a clean 2-7 inch crack that splits the formation in one 120 foot sweep and Pinnacle Aerobics (5.11a) a tenuous friction route up a gradually steepening face.
The south side has the rarely done Boom Boom Room (5.9 R) an old route which climbs to the summit of the formation via runout friction, Nuts and Bolts (5.9 R) a well-protected arete until it joins Boom Boom Room for it's thrilling finish and More Hustle then Muscle (5.8) a thin to hand crack over a roof.
Just below the Pommel proper is a collection of shorter routes on several scattered formations including Short Story Crag, Eileen Spire and the NRA Block.
