Description
The Cuillin mountains of Skye are the most challenging in Scotland. Most of the mountains on the famous Skye Ridge require some sort of scrambling and the Innacccessible Pinnacle of Squrr Dearg require rock climbing up to 5.5,plus a rappel. The ridge is about seven miles from the first summit to the last . A normal very fast time is 12 hours ,many if not most take two days as one ascends 24 peaks of 3000' from sea level with over 10,000' of ascent and descent with several sections of 5.5/5.6.The Current record for the full traverse is an unbelievable 3 hours 17 mins and 28 seconds by Es Tressider from Edinburgh. There are many great rock climbs on the Isle of Skye.
