Description
The Lake District's most northern valley Borrowdale although only eight miles long has over 1200 climbs to choose from ,some great some not so great.It also is often claimed to be the most beautiful valley in the Lake District.The first recorded climb in Borrowdale was in 1892 by the Abraham brothers from Keswick, this town is at the entrance of the valley.Seathwaith a two or three house village at the top of the valley has the distinction as being the wettest residence in England with over 85" of rain per year.The town of Keswick has many outdoor gear shops and about 30 pubs . The hiking and scenery is some of the best in the world....everything a climber can wish for ! Guide books for climbs in the Lake District are publised by the Fell and Rock Climbing Club and available in all book and outdoor shops.
