Description
Find 50+ routes in this subalpine area sitting between about 2600-3000ft. The crags here include Valley View West, Lost Resort, Peannacle Point, Chainsaw Wall, Alpina, Presto Palace, Slumbersome Ridge, and The Stein. The rock here is some of the best at Exit 38 and hosts many local classics. Expect to do some scrubbing on the least climbed routes.
Getting There
From the parking lot head West on the old railroad grade looking for a trail on the left cutting into the trees. Follow this up and past several crags until you reach the 1.4 mile mark. There is a junction at that point which is very obvious and has a very nice sign telling you where to go. Turn off the Mt. Wa. Trail onto the Salal Point Access Trail and walk along the base of a orange chossy pile. The first right hand turn is faint and the short path is steep and loose, that will take you up to Chainsaw Wall. The next more obvious right is the Bob's Area Loop and will provide access to all the other Bob's Area Crags. The Bob's Area Loop is only about .2 miles total so you are practically there. If you were to continue straight along the wider flatter trail that would lead you to the Salal Point Crags.
