Description
There are a few quality boulder problems and climbs scattered around the Ethan Allen Park in North Burlington. Some are right next to the footpath but a few gems hide off the trails, out of sight. Not climbed often, they get dirty. Decent rock quality, small and shaded.
There are now 9 Toprope climbs along the lower wall by the entrance along the path, and under the main wall beneath the Tower.
They range in difficulty from 5.7 to a stiff 5.11+ and all are set with Two Bolt Anchors at the top, with some routes sharing the same anchors. Most of them are easily accessed from the top of the cliff, but a couple of them require lowering down to a ledge from the top to set up the Topropes.
The City of Burlington is allowing climbing At-Your-Own-Risk, and will NOT permit the installation of Lead Anchors. This location is to remain TOPROPE ONLY to maintain safe climbing practices for all. If you are interested in setting up a new route anchor for a Toprope please contact CRAG-VT to consult with their crew and they will assist you with installing a new line.
Some of the approach trails are facing erosion issues so please consider walking around the back to save the existing trails and foliage. *** Maintain your awareness of new routes that may feature brittle or broken rocks that can be hazardous when climbing new lines here. Helmets are recommended but not mandated.
