HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).
Description
Excellent sport destination with several high quality routes ranging from .11b to .13a/b, including the standout Hotline, one of the best of the grade in Red Rock. This crag is shady, with the right (west) side receiving some afternoon sun in the spring months. It can be quite breezy here as well. There is a great, flat place at the base to hang out.
Getting There
From the west end of the Kraft Mountain Trailhead parking lot, hike a gravel road (or dirt trails to the right) heading west past an abandoned building project. Continue through dirt trails along the spring until you reach some large boulders where you can look up and left (southwest) and see a natural bridge. Hike/scramble up the steep hillside to the right side of the bridge and over it, continuing up the gully to the base of an obvious, huge boulder with a very steep north face.
