Yosemite National Park has yearly closures for Peregrine Falcon Protection March 1- July 15. Always check the NPS website at nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/… for the most current details and park alerts, and to learn more about the peregrine falcon, and how closures help it survive. This page also shares closures and warnings due to current fires, smoke, etc.
Description
Getting There
Drive 1.1 miles east from El Cap Drive to parking turnouts on both sides of the road with curbs. From the right turnout there are roughly two paths to the Valley Loop Trail.
If the path started on the west side of the turnout then turn left onto the loop trail, and if it started on the east side of the turnout then turn right instead. The climber's trail turnoff from the loop is marked with a carabiner sign and is just east of an obvious stone step. This trail brings you to the base of Manana.
From the base of Manana to Vanishing Point is about 20 minutes of scrambling. If you're going to Vanishing Point only it's faster to take the approach to the Presidential Boulder and then take a faint trail up from there.
