Description
Another high and wild peak west of the Sierra crest, with expansive views of the rest of the southern part of the range. The approach up the standard route from East Lake (or to the East Face) has memorable early morning views of the impressive Ericsson Crags.
Getting There
Another wonderful Sierra hike.
From Road's End at Cedar Grove hike up Bubbs Creek, past Charlotte Creek, and a looong way to Junction Meadow, turn south, cross the creek (scariest part of the whole trip} and follow the trail, with amazing views of Mount Bago to the north, to East Lake which makes a very scenic camp spot for the East Ridge and North Face routes - 18 miles.
