Description Suggest change

As the name implies, this is slab climbing. The routes here are good training for some of the more serious granite friction climbing areas in North Carolina.

Getting There Suggest change

Do not use the gully between Pepsi and the Small Wall to access the bottom of the Main Wall. The gully is badly eroded and full of loose rocks / debris. It is an unnecessary objective hazard. Walk around using the trail. It's just as fast. Especially with your kids or new climbers.

If coming up the trail from Hwy 184, turn right at the cracked egg boulder

If coming down the trail from the top, walk right and downhill past Pepsi (and the gully) on a well established trail. Contour around to the left, or turn left at the cracked egg boulder, and you'll find yourself at the bottom of the gully

Sun & Shade Suggest change

Details: Most of the rock face is sun exposed during the day, especially in summer, however much of the landing area is in shade. The middle routes like Frictionary tend to have sun at the landing area during the day because the start is elevated.
