Description
This area contains routes from the town of Munising to Miners Castle. This area is refereed to the Front Country climbs in the guidebook. It is the easiest ice to access in the region, with the shortest walks. Perfect for beginners, or for people with a shorter time to climb that day.
Getting There
Drive east from town and head down Sand Point road, pass the hospital on your left and park at the end of the road by the beach/boat launch. Walk back towards town for 10 minutes to access the Curtains/Dryer hose area. Follow the North Country trail starting from the parking area to reach all the climbs from Intersection Falls to SSM/Dairyland area to Miners Beach.
