Description

This is another area contribution for organizational purposes. This subarea is created to encompass ice not in Booth Creek and north of I-70 in Vail. Included here for the time being are: Piney Lake Pillar and Goat's Beard. Other dribbles of ice do form here during cold, wet, cloudy stretches of Colorado winter.

Getting There

I-70 to the E Vail exit. Go W on the frontage road. Piney Lake Pillar is up FR 700 (Red Sandstone Rd.) near a tall structure in Vail. Goat's Beard is roadside and obvious if it is in.
