Description

Left Infirmary Slab has two 5.8 trad/slab routes that are really only notable if you've already made the hike to Upper Infirmary Slab and want to get some more routes in. They're longer routes, but the cruxes are at the start and the rest of the climbing is really easy. Scramble down the right side of the formation to descend.

Getting There

As for Upper and Lower Infirmary Slabs, drive 5.1 miles up the canyon, and park at the pullout on the left (best to drive a little further and turn around at the turn off to the Forest Service Ranger cabins). Either hike up the trail to Upper Infirmary Slab and rockhop/bushwack 100 yards west (climber's left) and slightly down to the base of the slab OR hike up the road part way back to the cabins and the lower angle rockfall area and hike up the hillside trending up and right straight to the base.

[Hide Comment] If you are there, it also contains a short, fun 5.10 crack to a small tree. It is between the other routes. Apr 19, 2004
