| Where can I get one of those? That always makes me mad for some reason. No offense to anyone. | FLAG |

| And in Nevada, it's RED ROCK, not RED ROCKS. FYI- Only climbers call it RED ROCKS, but it's RED ROCK, thank you, thank you very much! : ) EDIT: What...are climbers special, or holy or something; that we can rename already named places to whatever we want?Like ZionS, and it's peaks. ; ) Have fun in Scions! | FLAG |

| Comments like these belong on rockclimbing.com, along with all the other egotistical climbers who have nothing better to do than nit- pick at each others posts. Oh, and what is the guideline when posting on mountain project? "Guideline #1: don't be a jerk". But, on second thought, you guys probably think you are doing me a favor. How nice! | FLAG |

| Hmmm... after rereading my post, it does sound a bit mean, and I apologize for that, but it does annoy me when climbers call Red Rock Red Rocks, and your thread inspired me to vent, and I do thank you for that. Let's try this again. : ) Have fun in Zion, it was beautiful when we were there two days ago-finally a bit cooler in the day, and the leaves are starting to change color. Absolutely gorgeous! Bump for dfrancom! | FLAG |

| Yes, now I feel bad too. I wasn't trying to be a jerk. I lived in Utah for 14 years and went to SUU, I just always wondered where the "S" came from. I blame it on Zion's Bank... | FLAG |

No one was being a jerk. Brian posted a photo of a sweatshirt, which demonstrates that this is a pet peeve of enough people as to make it marketable. We all have our pet peeves (Sorry GiGi, I say "Red Rocks" all the time, and I'm not likely to stop any time soon). It annoys the hell out of me to see "Tucson" misspelled. Another bump for dfrancom. | FLAG |

| I just had a visual- If Mt. Lemmon was wrongfully pluralized to Mt. Lemmons, it would sound so cute, and yummy- AARRG; we'll never succomb to scurvy! We should create more climbonics for us, and future generations of climbers. Bobby, and Tucsonians could start inviting new, or non-native climbers to "Mt. Lemmons" and within a few years, 84% (Bobby likes numbers) of climbers will be calling it Mt. Lemmons. We could expand climbonics to Eldos, Joshua Trees, Cochise Strongholds, Lumpy's Ridges, and so on... I like it. | FLAG |

| The reason Zion's is so annoying is that there are hundreds of businesses in Utah named Zion's this and Zion's that (Zion's Bank, Zion's Mechanic, Zion's Climbing Shop, etc.) cashing in on the Mormon idea of a Zionist society. The park is just Zion National Park. It doesn't belong to the Zionists. It belongs to the hordes of Asian and Californian tourists. The same doesn't apply to Red Rock, Smith Rock, Mt. Lemmon. (unless you count the amphitheater) Red Rock's Tourist Trap Casino The Mount Lemmon's Icy Beverage Stand The Smith Rock's middle of nowhere shop. | FLAG |
