As it says big rain all day today. Low temputures and high humidity are factors for drying that are increase the time before climbing they should be considered.

It's been a very wet year and people have been behaving in a callous and narcissistic manner in regard to wet rock.

don't be one of those people we all see climbing in the rain or just after... because it would, "ruin your trip"

Thanks Rob for spreading the word and helping preserve a place like no other place.
Let's all do our part to keep the climbs in original form...

Any estimates on when Zion will be good to climb?

A good excuse to go for a hike in canyon country is hardly an unwelcome development. Enjoy it, folks.

its still real wet... low day time temps mean that even sunny crags may need at least another day and maybe two. if you want to go out and stash water gear ect... leave a note saying when you will be back for it... the ground remains the best test for rock saturation. If the sand is wet, the rock is wet. another good test is to take a paper back sized rock and see if it breaks under low pressure or slight taps its saturated and unsafe/ likely to damage the rock. This test gives a definitive baseline for actual saturation. works for me anyway.

I have heard some pretty weak excuses about how just because its wet down low doesn't mean it is on the upper pitches... How did you get to those upper pitches? seems like you climbed all that wet rock... lets keep the 11c traverse on moonlight 11c, not 12c or 13c.

A suggestion - put the date in the thread title so people casually perusing the forum know it is recent. You could edit the thread title every day that Zions is still wet to make it super obvious.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
