28' Tall Boulder

Description

One of the largest boulders at Bozoo, this Behemoth welcomes you with two large faces. On the downstream face you will find a 28' slightly over-hanging face with what appears to be doable lines (beta beta??) on the river side there is a 50' long face that is generally slightly slabby with fine grain slopers crosshatching the entire boulder. There are a half dozen established lines on this face with more to be done for the industrious moss remover. The Derecho has made this area a wasteland, but most of the problems on this boulder have been re-established with the removal of many downed trees and branches.

Getting There

Hike along the river until you reach the two 18' tall boulders sitting at the edge o fthe river just across from Lick Creek. From here hike straight up the hill to the can't miss it cause it's HUGE boulder!

Either way, climbs better now without the tree!On the Left side of the Lower Left slabby face, SDS 8' right of the arete on a good right hand jug/pocket located in a crack. Pull on and float up beautiful slopers and triangle shaped edges to some big slopers/pinch at the lip. Decipher the complicated mantle and climb the large (V0) f...[more]   Browse More Classics in WV
