Description

A prominence of immaculate granite dominated by it's namesake climb, Hypertension. Nice and shady on hot summer afternoons. Gets more wind due to it's exposure.

Getting There

This cirque is located on the north east side of the top of turtle rock. To get there head toward Land of the Rising Moon, as per the description for LOTRM, but instead of heading up to the saddle between Turtle Rock and Glenn Dome cut right and up slabs to the top of Turtle Rock. Staying right, walk across the top of Turtle Rock, and head left. The strikingly beautiful Hypertension will soon come into view. You'll know it when you get there.

Featured Route For Hypertension
Hypertension. There is basically a platform around the base of the climb, and this drops off steeply on three sides, and your way up near the top of the central area. Beautiful climb, Beautiful view.

Hypertension 5.12  WY : Vedauwoo : Hypertension

Ater that the angle backs off substantially and the crack thins down. Rock here is smoother than most of Vedauwoo, no real crystals poking out. One of the best lines anywhere, Scarpelli and Suzuki used to run laps on this thing all the time as it was maybe their favorite crack at Vedauwo...[more]   Browse More Classics in WY
