Hey All, What are your thoughts on getting the shoes below resoled? There are two pairs, la sportivas and evos, they have received some serious love and have nickel to quarter sized holes in the toes. Also some erosion of the sole material (leather, plastic). I had the sportivas resoled once previously but I don't think they were as beat up. Hoping to save these shoes for a few more laps, what do you think? Thanks!

If you like the shoes and if they can be resoled...why not? I'm sure the resoler will tell you if they are resoleable.

Miuras probably aren't worth it because they tend to curl up in the toe once they're beat like that. It's hard to regain their original shape after more than one resole.

You could have sent those in to be resoled a few laps back.

The shoe guys can reSOLE shoes, they can't rebuild them. Most resolers will tell you that once you've burned through the rubber and done damage to the leather, they can't guarantee anything.

Hah, yeah, thanks guys, I realize that these should have been sent in a while back. Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience on getting shoes in similar shape fixed up.

Yeah, they can definitely resole and put a new cap and rand on, but they won't look, feel or climb the same. $50 for a resole, but unfortunately you should just spend another $90 and get a new pair. Sorry. bv www.whiteknuckled.com

Every time I resole I wish I'd just bought a new pair.

Yeah, thanks, resoling is fairly expensive, will probably just suck it up and go for a new pair. Thanks!

Ramutas does good work but I don't know if they'd take those in that condition.

Apparently you don't realize the massive amounts of street cred you receive when you resole shoes. I can't make it one fucking trip to jtree without some old timer telling me how he resoled his current shoes 137 times. And automatically, I know, without doubt, he is a badass. Be that guy, show your worth.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. I always vote for taking them back in to get a resole. Maybe do one pair, and see how it turns out.

Um, if you can't tell by the massive holes in my shoes I keep my footwork pretty precise. Hah, not exactly. These things will be heading up moderates at the most. Guess it is worth a shot for one pair, thanks for the thoughts!
