Worn out rap rings -- where to buy new ones

A couple days ago I was cragging at the challenge buttress and noticed the rings at the top of Hollow Man were getting very worn and could use being replaced before everyone their friends start setting top ropes directly through the rings.

The most logical thing is people respecting the anchors and burning their biners and not community gear. However we all know that won't happen ever.

I have rap rings but they are of the variety used for bailing or adventure climbing, ie cheap and meant to be left behind. I'd like to throw new rings up in the quick links but not sure where people get their forged steel rings for anchors.

Let me know and I'd be happy to replace them next time up there or if someone else is headed up there go for it and I'll replace the next anchors I find.

We all use the gear so we should all take an active role in maintaining it.

Good on ya, stop by IME as they have rings.

And yes, noobs setting up TR via the rings need to be taught a lesson.

Climbing and industrial strength ratings are based on very different statistical standards, and can not be compared.

That being said, this is a fine solution.

Thanks for all the info. I picked up a small supply from IME. 3.25/each for plated steel.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
