Closed MORE INFO >>>
Santa Clara County Department of Parks and Recreation Dept. has closed Summit Rock to climbing year-round to protect peregrine falcons. The AF is working to reduce this to a closure for the nesting season only, which is the standard management approach.
This information is a public crowdsourcing effort between the Access Fund,
and Mountain Project. You should confirm closures, restrictions, and/or related dates.

Keeping climbing areas open and conserving the climbing environment

Description Located on the upper rock of the lower tier, this is the furthest right climb. It has a very apparent chimney on the top 10 feet of the climb. An interesting balance move makes this a worthwhile climb. The crux is just below the second bolt, and has potential for groundfall from 15 feet off the deck. Beware of glass in the base of the chimney above the second bolt.
Protection 4 bolts to a 2 bolt anchor. You could also set up a top rope with minimal difficult by walking around the back of the spire to the top.

| Somewhat sketchy climbing off of small holds past the first bolt. Reach up high and right over the lip to find much more positive holds. A pretty good route, fun start. I'm pretty sure there are only three lead bolts. |
