Description

This small sheltered crag is situated in Bridge of Allan in a disused quarry. The rock is Greenstone and fine in texture with numerous small edges (and chipped holds too). The walls tend to be slightly overhanging and the problems technical and fingery in nature.

Most of the problems end at obvious breaks, where you can either down climb the problem, jump off or traverse left or right to reach easier down climbs.

The main face faces south and stays dry in the rain, but you will not want to climb here if it is raining. Wait for it to stop and jump on the rock.

While not a destination venue, there are good problems and a great stamina sapping traverse making it is worth a visit if in the area.

Getting There

From the roundabout at the end of the M9 (Junction 11), take the road into Bridge of Allan. Immediately after crossing the bridge take a sharp left (following the signs for the Golf Course). Take a right (Ferniebank Brae) gain following the signs for the gold course. At the top of the hill turn right at the T Junction and park up on the right hand side of the road next to the small grassy area.

The crag is situated across the road in the trees.
