The Majestic WEST BLUFF

Description

The MidBluff area on the West Bluff contains the fine formations "The Blade" and "Prospect Point Towers". The area is secluded and sees no crowding in spite of the fine routes found here.

Getting There

To access the MidBluff area follow the Tumbled Rocks Trail north past the cabins. Walk north to the start of the first exposed boulder field. On the south end of this boulder field there is a trail through the trees. Hike up this trail until you reach Prospect Point Towers. To reach The Blade continue hiking up the bluff over boulders on the south side of the Prospect Point Towers formation. After about 150 feet you will encounter The Blade.

The nomenclature for this area is confused. This "Mid Bluff" is what Swartling and Mayer call "Prospect Point Towers" (most people I know just refer to this as the "Great Tower" area), plus "The Blade". Then the formation that is called "Prospect Point Towers" here is just "Sun-Top" Tower. And "Track Cracks" which is lumped with "Great Tower" is a bit further uphill on the "Picnic Wall"
