Description

Two Pines Buttress contains almost two dozen very nice climbs including The Rack (5.7), Mouse Tracks (5.11a), Full Stop (5.6), and Schizophrenia (5.6). The climbs on the east half are long and continuous while those on the western portion are divided by a ledge.

Getting There

To get to Two Pines Buttress hike up the CCC trail turning left at the Monster. Once you reach the Pedestal Buttress turn left to get to the base of the buttress (about 200 feet). To get to the top of the buttress go right here and walk around the east end of the cliff, then hike west about 300 feet.

I climbed two pines buttress in Feb of 2005, it was cold and wet but it was 43F outside and i thought it was a great part of Devils lake. There are great routes all around and next to this that you can warm up on and then take a gamble at the 5.11 Mouse tracks or mouse something. Anyway i would get on this if you go up to the lake. its very nice.

A must do when you are at the lake. A great wall for a beginner and even harder problems if you are more than a beginner. I love this wall

stone resembles that found at old sandstone area. good grip, cool features, quality cracks. wish more of the lake was like this!
